Trying to balance wishes and reality. Advice needed.

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.
I finally finished maritime faculty, I’ve got my certificates and seaman’s book and I should be looking for a job. Initially, my plan all along was a cruiser, mainly because of shorter contracts, but since Covid shut the industry down, I’m more drawn towards doing cadetship on a cargo vessel. I’m not sure what company should I choose. So far, I was thinking of Bahri (tho I have heard getting in is hard) and Bernhard Schulte. I come from Montenegro, Europe, I don’t mind any type of ship in particular and I’m unsure what’s a good option now. I’ll appreciate any advice you can give me, thank you!

The gold standard is Maersk. They have a VERY robust cadet and shoreside program.
