Is it difficult to get a CG 719K Medical certificate?

So I am considering enrolling into a state maritime school, however, they need you to submit a CG 719k. Is it hard to pass the medical test and get the certificate? I don’t want to commit then find out that I can’t go because I am unable to get a CG 719k.

P.S. I’m kinda skinny, don’t know if they take that into consideration.

The medical isn’t crazy. If you’re in okay health you’ll be fine.

I don’t know about American requirements, but marine medicals mostly ensure that you do not have disease or condition that will prevent you from doing your job, such as uncorrected poor eyesight, uncorrected hearing loss, colour blindness, and other conditions that will certainly kill you if you go on a ship. I’ve sailed with fellows that had serious diabetes, had multiple heart attacks, were a couple hundred pounds overweight, and they still got their medicals.

Yeah it’s really easy your doctor just has to fill some stuff out.

Not hard to get. Has to be renewed every 2 years.
