Hi! I just wanted to get some opinions from those of you who are working in the commercial marine industry, and have had a decent bit of success. I was a deckhand on the Illinois River, and I just had a hard time getting the hang of the work, and dealing with the stress; especially while on a square watch. I’m not currently on deck, and I’m thinking about applying for work with a company that works on the larger rivers, and was just wondering if anyone had a similar time? How did you deal with stress? Did you pick it up the skills right away?
