    Casio GW7900?

Shouldn’t your ferry tell you that information though? I’m not a deck guy, I just keep the hamsters running, but I’d imagine you’d have enough equipment up top to keep an eye on the tides?

Your old one is a mechanical or automatic watch that has tide tables? Or is it digital, and if so how does it lose time?

I’ve got a timex intelligent quartz watch, and I love it. The folly in my buying it is that I’m always in a different place, so I’d have to reset the tide function if I wanted it accurate all the time. But as a ferry captain, I’m guessing you stay pretty well in the same location. The main drawback is that the crowns stick out a bit, so for someone like me throwing on a work vest a dozen times a day, snags are inevitable. Also the band leaves a bit to be desired, but overall, I’m really satisfied with it, and it looks great.
